Former MCA Michael Macharia (Mash Dafra) laid to rest

Former Menengai East MCA Michael Macharia has finally been laid to rest.

The MCA who served in the first Nakuru County Assembly (2013-2017) under Governor Kinuthia Mbugua was laid to rest at Nakuru North Cemetery.

The late Member for Nakuru County Assembly was eulogized as a peace-loving person, jovial and a staunch Catholic.

“I will always remember Mash as a person who took his faith seriously. He was an ever happy person, hardworking and very prayerful,” said Senator Susan Kihika during the burial.

Mash had served under Senator Kihika Kihika who was then the Nakuru County Speaker.

A requiem mass for the late mass was held at his local church in Lanet where he had been a choir member.

Kihika joins former MCAs to support deceased colleague

Members of the National Assembly should in one accord support the gender bill that will be coming up for voting this Tuesday.
Addressing mourners who had come together to fundraise for the family of former MCA for Menengai East the late Hon Michael Macharia (Mash Dafra), Senator Susan Kijika said there was a need to give equity to women in leadership.
“Women have already proven themselves in other spheres. But the challenges of getting into political leadership locks many of them out. That’s why we need this law,” explained the senator.
At the same time, the senator has continued with her calls to have stern action taken against men impregnating school girls.
“There can be no consent where 13-year-old school girls are concerned. These men should be considered as rapists and sentenced as such,” she said.
Among other leaders who attended the function were scores of former MCAs and several current MCAs including the current area MCA.
Former Governor Kinuthia Mbugua sent his contribution through former MCA Wanyoike Wanango. He also said he might attend the funeral slated for Friday next week.
While addressing the mourners, former MCA for Biashara Ward Stephen (Mhesh) Kuria said although sometimes Mash overspent on his medical cover, the then speaker always ensured his medical needs were met.

Senator Kihika condoles family of late MCA Michael Macharia

Senator Susan Kihika has this evening condoled with the family and friends of former Menengai East MCA Hon. Michael Macharia.

The late MCA Macharia popularly known as Dafra will be remembered for his strong and consistent Catholic faith and dedication to the service of his people.

Former colleagues at the assembly who joined the Senator at the home of the late Macharia spoke highly of their departed colleague especially his staunch faith in the Catholic faith.

He will be buried on Friday 23rd November. The date was set you give his son who is a Form Four candidate time to clear his ongoing exams.
