Official opening of Burgei Dispensary in Barut Ward

Residents of Burgei and neighbouring villages, including Kimolwet, Upper Kelelwet, and Kiptenden in Barut Ward, Nakuru Town West Sub-County, can now access essential healthcare services following the official opening of Burgei Dispensary. The long-awaited facility, which had been idle since its construction in the 2020/2021 financial year, was inaugurated as part of Governor Susan Kihika’s ongoing efforts to complete and operationalize stalled projects across the county.

County Executive Committee Member for Health Services, Ms. Roselyn Mungai, led the opening ceremony, reaffirming the department’s commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare and promoting public well-being. The opening of Burgei Dispensary marks a significant milestone in Governor Kihika’s “Healthcare for All” agenda, aiming to bring medical services closer to the people.

Francis Njoroge, representing the political office, underscored the importance of the new facility, noting that it would eliminate the need for residents to make long trips to Nakuru Town for basic healthcare.

“This dispensary will save lives and time,” he remarked.

Area MCA Hon. Bernard Kirui pledged continued support for health initiatives across the ward, assuring residents that the dispensary would receive regular supplies and personnel to ensure its effective operation.

Martin Gichinga from the Office of the Governor also expressed confidence in the dispensary’s ability to meet the community’s immediate healthcare needs.

“We are committed to ensuring that residents receive quality care right here in Barut,” he stated, highlighting the government’s dedication to improving healthcare infrastructure in the region.

The event was also attended by the Ward Administrator, area chiefs, and community health promoters (CHPs), all of whom expressed their gratitude to the County Government of Nakuru for bringing essential healthcare services closer to the people.
