The Nakuru County Department of Agriculture is set to collaborate with the Department of Infrastructure to improve access and feeder roads in coffee-growing areas. This initiative was discussed during a consultative meeting between Agriculture CECM Leonard Bor and members of the Nakuru Coffee Societies Union in Bahati Ward, Bahati Sub-county.

CECM Leonard Bor highlighted the commitment of Governor Susan Kihika’s administration to work closely with the national government to enhance the prospects of coffee farmers in the county. Improving the road infrastructure in these areas is identified as one of the incentives that will contribute to better returns for coffee producers.

The Nakuru Coffee Societies Union comprises several cooperative societies, including Mutingati, Jumatatu, Wikurie, Ndemu, Mandizini, Solai, and Kiremba Farmers Cooperative Societies.

This collaborative effort between the Agriculture and Infrastructure departments underscores the comprehensive approach taken by Nakuru County to support its agricultural sector. By addressing key infrastructure needs, the county aims to create an enabling environment for coffee farmers, ultimately contributing to the economic well-being of the community.
