Keringet Sub-County Hospital is set to improve its healthcare services following a consultative meeting aimed at enhancing service delivery. The meeting, held at the facility, was led by Hon. Joseph Ruto, Director for Political Affairs in the Office of the Governor, and CECM Leonard Bor. It brought together the hospital board and local residents to discuss ways to strengthen healthcare provision.

The hospital serves a population of 12,714 and manages an average monthly caseload of 2,704 patients. It also facilitates 100 skilled deliveries each month, playing a critical role in promotive, preventive, and curative healthcare services for the community.

To support healthcare operations, the County Government, under Governor Susan Kihika’s leadership, has provided a generator and facilitated ambulance services to ensure timely referrals for specialized care. These interventions address key operational challenges and improve service efficiency at the hospital.

Additionally, the construction of a male ward is nearing completion, increasing the hospital’s capacity to provide inpatient care. This expansion aligns with the county’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure to meet the needs of residents.

The meeting was attended by Chief Officers John Koech (Culture) and Kibet Kurgat (Cooperative), area MCA Hon. William Mutai, the Sub-County Health team, and local residents. Discussions focused on collaborative approaches to sustain and enhance healthcare service delivery at the facility, ensuring residents continue to access essential medical services.

This initiative reflects the county’s broader strategy to improve healthcare systems and infrastructure, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to accessible and quality healthcare services for all residents of Nakuru County.
