Nakuru County Deputy Governor, H.E. David Kones, accompanied by County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture, Leonard Bor, toured Kuresoi North Sub-county to inspect the ongoing upgrading of the 5-kilometer Kiptororo-Araret-Kowang road.
The project, which involves grading and murraming, is expected to enhance accessibility and boost economic activities in the region. Speaking during the visit, Deputy Governor Kones commended the progress, noting that the improved road network will significantly benefit farmers by easing the transportation of agricultural produce to markets.
“This road will not only improve movement for residents but also play a key role in strengthening the local economy. Farmers will be able to transport their produce more efficiently, reducing post-harvest losses and increasing market access,” said Kones.
He reiterated H.E. Governor Susan Kihika’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure, highlighting the critical role that well-maintained roads play in economic growth and community development.
Residents expressed optimism about the initiative, emphasizing that better roads will improve mobility, attract investment, and open up new opportunities for trade and agribusiness in the area.
The road upgrade is part of the county’s broader efforts to improve rural infrastructure and facilitate socioeconomic development across Nakuru.
