In a bid to enhance agricultural productivity, Nakuru County Deputy Governor, H.E. David Kones, visited the Kiptororo Fertilizer Satellite Store in Kiptororo Ward, Kuresoi North Sub-county, to oversee the ongoing distribution of subsidized fertilizer to local farmers.

Addressing farmers at the facility, Deputy Governor Kones reaffirmed the county’s commitment to ensuring timely access to farm inputs. He emphasized that the strategic placement of satellite stores across Nakuru County is aimed at easing logistical challenges and bringing affordable fertilizer closer to the farmers.

“This initiative ensures that our farmers can access fertilizer without traveling long distances or incurring extra costs. We are committed to supporting agricultural growth by making essential inputs readily available,” stated Kones.

The Deputy Governor also highlighted the county’s collaboration with the National Government’s State Department of Agriculture, assuring farmers that the program would continue to bridge the gap in input accessibility. He encouraged them to focus on farming to maximize yields and improve food security in the region.

County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture, Leonard Bor, reiterated the significance of agriculture to Nakuru’s economy. He assured farmers that the department, in partnership with the national government, is working tirelessly to ensure that every farmer benefits from the fertilizer subsidy program.

Nakuru County remains at the forefront of enhancing food production, reinforcing Governor Susan Kihika’s vision of a self-sufficient and prosperous agricultural sector.
