Nakuru County continues to make continued efforts to improve access to safe drinking water in the County. The county, through the Department of water and sanitation, is making significant strides with the ongoing drilling of the Taita borehole in Tinet Ward, Kuresoi South Sub-county. The drilling operation has successfully reached a depth of 190 meters out of the targeted 250 meters, with promising results evident.

During a site visit, James Tirop, the Water Officer for Kuresoi South Sub-county, emphasized the commitment of the Nakuru County Government, led by Her Excellency Susan Kihika, to prioritize the provision of safe and clean drinking water to the residents of Tinet. The initiative reflects the county’s dedication to addressing crucial needs in water infrastructure.

Once completed, the Taita borehole is expected to serve approximately 300 households in the Taita trading center, Taita dispensary, Kapng’orot secondary school, and the surrounding areas. This development aligns with the county’s broader goals of enhancing water accessibility and improving the quality of life for the residents of Kuresoi South.

Tirop was joined by representatives from the office of the area Member of County Assembly (MCA), the Project Management Committee Members overseeing the project, and local residents. The collaborative effort demonstrates a community-oriented approach to addressing water challenges and fostering sustainable development in the region. The Taita borehole project stands as a testament to Nakuru County’s commitment to meeting the essential needs of its residents.
