Residents of Tegea farm, including Entanki ECDE school, in Mkulima location, Nyota ward, Kuresoi North Sub-County, are set to benefit from clean and safe drinking water as the Etanki borehole water project nears completion. The initiative, which will serve more than 3,000 residents and their livestock, is in line with Governor Susan Kihika’s commitment to providing quality water to all residents of Nakuru County.

Speaking about the project, Sub-County Water Officer Eng. James Tirop described the new development as a beacon of hope for the community, which has previously relied on wells and seasonal rivers for water. “We are confident that the borehole will produce sufficient water for long-term use, ensuring the community has a reliable source of clean water,” Tirop said.

The Etanki borehole project is part of Governor Kihika’s broader agenda to improve access to essential services for residents. Her administration has prioritized water provision as a key pillar of her development strategy, underscoring her promise to deliver clean, safe, and quality water across the county.

The launch event was attended by local leaders, including Ward Administrator Edward Omondi and Chelule Nge’no, representing the Area MCA, alongside community members. Their presence highlighted the government’s hands-on approach to fulfilling the governor’s pledges.

Once completed, the Etanki borehole will not only provide safe drinking water but also bolster the community’s economic activities, particularly farming, by ensuring a reliable water supply for livestock and crops. The project is a testament to the county government’s dedication to improving the lives of its residents, marking a new dawn for Tegea farm and surrounding areas.
