Traders at the Gilgil Mtumba market, located in Gilgil Ward, Gilgil Sub County, are now operating in a safer and more comfortable environment following the official handover of a new market shade by the County Government.
Mr. Samuel Ndegwa, the County Trade Chief Officer, emphasized that this project aligns with Governor Susan Kihika’s manifesto, which prioritizes creating a conducive trading environment for Nakuru County residents.
The Chief Officer made these remarks during the project handover from the contractor to the traders. He was accompanied by Veronica Njiiri (Department Project Coordinator), Rose Njoroge (MCA, Gilgil Ward), Paul Kamau (Administrator, Gilgil Ward), the project contractor, and market officials, among others.
Traders and consumers alike expressed their appreciation for Governor Kihika’s initiative, noting that the new market shade would protect them from the scorching sun and rain, thus improving their overall trading conditions.
