Governor Susan Kihika Unveils Ambitious Plans for Water Solutions and Development in Kabazi, Nakuru County



In a resolute commitment to address water challenges in Kabazi Ward, Subukia, Nakuru County, Governor H.E Susan Kihika revealed that she is in talks with President William Ruto to construct Tetu Dam. Speaking during the homecoming ceremony for Nakuru County Infrastructure CECM, Eng Michael Kamau, at Maombi Primary School in Kabazi, Governor Kihika outlined a comprehensive plan to uplift the community and tackle pressing issues.

Governor Kihika expressed her admiration for CECM Eng Michael Kamau, describing him as hardworking and competent in his duties. She emphasized the need for sustainable water solutions, stating that boreholes were currently being drilled in the area, citing Kihoto and Mwireri as examples. The announcement of discussions with President Ruto to construct Tetu Dam signals a significant stride in addressing the long-standing water challenges faced by residents of Kabazi Ward.

The commitment to infrastructure development extended beyond water solutions. Governor Kihika highlighted road upgrades in Kabazi, citing the AIC Maombi Primary School – Kwa Cucu Road as a notable project in progress. Plans were also revealed for the enhancement of Kabazi Level 4 Hospital, with Governor Kihika asserting her administration’s dedication to the healthcare sector.

In education, Governor Kihika pledged to increase bursaries for the area to Kshs 5 million, demonstrating a commitment to fostering educational opportunities for the youth. Instructions were issued for wifi installation at Wakulima Market, showcasing the administration’s focus on modernizing key public spaces.

Addressing the agricultural sector, Governor Kihika encouraged tea farming among residents and announced collaboration with partners to construct a tea factory in Subukia. The multifaceted approach to development encompasses not only water and infrastructure but also economic empowerment through agriculture.

The Governor’s vision for holistic development was further underscored by plans to launch a school feeding program in Nakuru County. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to enhance the well-being and nutritional standards of students.
