Improving ECDE Centers in Nakuru

Nakuru County, under the leadership of H.E. Governor Susan Kihika, is making significant progress in improving Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centers, ensuring a conducive learning environment for young learners across the county.

In Maiela Ward, Naivasha Sub-County, County Executive Committee Member for Education, Hon. Zipporah Wambui, together with Area MCA Hon. Jane Gituku, commissioned a newly constructed modern ECDE classroom at Ngondi ECDE Center. The facility features a terrazzo floor, age-appropriate furniture, a water tank, and child-friendly toilets, enhancing the overall learning experience for young pupils.

Speaking during the commissioning, CECM Wambui highlighted key milestones achieved by Governor Kihika’s administration in the education sector. These include the School Feeding Program, distribution of age-appropriate furniture, provision of instructional materials, integration of ICT in ECDE, and ongoing infrastructure improvements across the county’s learning institutions.

Mr. Mburu Ichoho, the Headteacher of Ngondi ECDE Center, expressed gratitude for the county’s efforts, noting that the improved facilities and feeding program have significantly boosted enrollment and enhanced the learning environment.

Governor Kihika remains committed to enhancing the quality of early education in Nakuru, ensuring that young learners receive the best foundation for their academic journey. Her administration continues to invest in infrastructure, resources, and innovative programs to fully realize the benefits of devolution in education for Nakuru residents.
