Residents of Hellsgate Ward in Naivasha Sub-county are now enjoying improved mobility and safety following the successful desilting and unclogging of the Musaka Bridge drainage system. This intervention addresses long-standing challenges posed by flooding and poor drainage in the area.
The maintenance exercise was overseen by Nakuru County Secretary Dr Samuel Mwaura, who was accompanied by the Chief Officer for Infrastructure Samuel Ndegwa.
Speaking during the event, Dr. Mwaura praised residents for promptly reporting the drainage issue and emphasized the importance of community collaboration in maintaining infrastructure. He further pledged that the county government will develop a system to monitor drainage systems and address emerging concerns swiftly.
Local leaders, including Hellsgate MCA Virginia Wamaitha and Malewa West MCA Francis Mungai, were also present. Both commended the county government for its swift action and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting infrastructure improvements in the region.
This initiative underscores Nakuru County’s dedication to enhancing infrastructure for safer and more accessible communities under the leadership of Governor Susan Kihika.
