Menengai East Farmers Receive Improved Kienyeji Chicks from County Government


Improved Kienyenji chicks for Menengai East farmers

Over 54 farmers’ groups and two groups comprising People Living with Disabilities in Menengai East Ward in Nakuru Town East sub-county have received a significant boost through the distribution of 8,442 one-month improved kienyeji chicks. The beneficiaries, including youths, women, PWDs and widow groups, underwent comprehensive training on proper management, feeding techniques, and medications for the chicks.

Led by Agriculture CECM Leonard Bor, this initiative underscores the commitment to empower the youth and women in the community, providing them with essential skills and resources to enhance food security in Nakuru County. The distribution event saw the participation of Chief Officer Livestock Fisheries and Veterinary Services Dr Michael Cheruiyot, Menengai East Ward MCA Hon. Wilson Mwangi, Nakuru Town East Sub-County Administrator Samuel Rotich, and other county officials.
