On Sunday, 11th November 2018, Senator Susan Kihika together with Hon Martha Wangari (MP Gilgil) and other leaders from Gilgil joined the residents in support of Zachariah Muhoro who lost his leg after a motorcycle accident.

Muhoro a bodaboda operator from Gilgil hit a stray goat on 11th September 2018. The accident happened after he hit a stray goat.

Well-wishers had rushed him to the Gilgil Sub-county Hospital for treatment where doctors plastered his leg and prescribed two months of bed rest.

The condition of the leg however worsened with the pain increasing daily. He was later taken to Ol’kalou hospital where he was again referred to Nakuru Provincial General Hospital on the same day. He ended up being admitted at PGH for three weeks.

Muhoro’s leg had become worse and the Doctors recommended that the only way out of his condition was through amputation. He sought a second opinion from Kijabe Hospital where his fears got confirmed,” reports Daniel Njoroge one of the committee members who organised the fundraiser.

Friends had come together to help Muhoro get an artificial leg and also set up a business to help him take care of his needs.
