Nakuru County Agriculture CECM Leonard Bor lauded the efforts of Chemare Farmers Cooperative Society during a farmers’ field day held in Kiptororo ward, Kuresoi North Sub-county. The cooperative boasts 460 active members and collects over 870 litres of milk daily. Bor emphasized the importance of the farmers working together, noting that their unity has significantly boosted their bargaining power in the market.

As part of Governor Susan Kihika’s commitment to supporting farmers, Bor announced that the cooperative will soon receive a milk cooler to aid in bulking and storing milk. He highlighted the cooperative’s crucial role in empowering farmers, especially the youth, enabling them to improve their livelihoods and achieve financial independence.
The cooperative’s Chairperson, Samson Mibei, thanked the county administration for selecting Chemare as part of the cooperatives providing subsidized artificial insemination services to farmers, further enhancing productivity. County Dairy Officer Paul Busienei and the ward administrator were also in attendance, showing their continued support for local agricultural initiatives.
