Nakuru County Bolsters Healthcare Access with Sh26.8 Million Drug Consignment



Nakuru County’s Deputy Governor, H.E David Kones, has flagged off drugs consignment valued at Sh26.8 million to uphold the provinsion of essential medicines across Nakuru County. Sourced from the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (Kemsa), this consignment is earmarked for distribution to Level Two and Three Hospitals throughout the county. This initiative underscores the County’s steadfast commitment to ensuring accessible and affordable healthcare services for all residents, aligning closely with H.E Governor Susan Kihika’s overarching focus on primary healthcare.

With the aim of fortifying healthcare accessibility and affordability, Deputy Governor Kones emphasized the  importance of responsible medication usage among the public. He underscored the strategic allocation of certain drugs to specific healthcare levels, ensuring optimized care delivery tailored to the needs of diverse patient populations. Moreover, Kones urged individuals to refrain from unnecessary stockpiling of medications, advocating for equitable distribution and timely treatment for all in need.
