Nakuru County Celebrates UN Day of Persons with Disability, Emphasizing Economic Empowerment



Nakuru County’s Directorate of Social Services and Inclusivity recently marked the International UN Day of Persons with Disability in a display of solidarity and inclusivity in Maiella Ward, Naivasha Sub-County. The event, which drew together a diverse group of officials and organizations, aimed to shed light on the role of Disability Fund Regulations in collaboration with partners.

The focal point of the gathering was the message delivered by Mr. Josephat Kimemia, the Director of Youth Affairs. His presence underscored the commitment of the county to fostering an environment where Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) can seize opportunities for economic empowerment. Mr. Kimemi urged PWDs to explore the numerous avenues available within the county, emphasizing the potential for not just social inclusion but also meaningful participation in economic activities.

The occasion served as a platform for engaging the public in a dialogue about the importance of Disability Fund Regulations. The collective presence of these stakeholders underscored the shared commitment to ensuring that PWDs not only have access to essential services but are also actively involved in shaping their economic destinies.
