Site Visit for Affordable Housing Project in Bahati

John Kihagi, Nakuru County Executive for Lands, Physical Planning, Housing, and Urban Development, led a site visit to assess the readiness of the proposed Land for Affordable Housing in Bahati Ward, Bahati Sub-county. The visit aimed to prepare for the groundbreaking ceremony, expected to be graced by President William Ruto, and address any potential delays.

The project, a collaborative effort between Nakuru County and the National Government, involves a five-acre land allocation for the construction of 200 affordable housing units and additional social amenities. The initiative seeks to provide Kenyans with decent housing, stimulate the urban economy, and generate job opportunities.

In attendance during the site visit were Chief Officer for Housing and Urban Development, Kamau Kuria, Assistant County Commissioner Esther Nduta, Bahati Ward MCA Grace Mwathi, and local administrative officials. The groundbreaking ceremony signifies a crucial step forward in addressing housing needs and promoting economic development in the region.
