Nakuru County Governor H.E. Susan Kihika hosted the Dutch ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Maarten Brouwer, at the County Headquarters to discuss the expansion of existing projects undertaken by the Kingdom of Netherlands in Nakuru County. Governor Kihika highlighted the substantial investments made by the Kingdom of Netherlands in the water and sanitation sector, such as the ongoing Water WorX project aimed at supplying clean water to 10 million people in the county by 2030.
During the meeting, Governor Kihika also presented investment opportunities in Nakuru County, including agriculture, tourism, health, water, and logistics. A collaborative team was formed to engage with the Dutch embassy to further explore and solidify areas of potential investment.
Ambassador Maarten expressed the importance of Nakuru County to the Kingdom of Netherlands, noting that over 20 Dutch investors are currently running businesses in the county. He emphasized their focus on water, health, agriculture, ICT, and logistics and pledged to work closely with the county on investments in these key sectors.
Present at the meeting were Deputy Governor H.E. David Kones, County Secretary Samuel Mwaura, Chief of Staff Peter Ketienya, and various County Executive Committee Members and Chief Officers from different departments.
