The Nakuru County Government, under the leadership of H.E. Governor Susan Kihika, is actively working towards empowering young individuals with essential digital skills throughout the county. This initiative aligns with Governor Kihika’s youth-focused agenda.
On August 12, 2023, a significant step was taken as the Governor signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Centum Investment Company PLC. The objective of this partnership is to facilitate the expansion and success of a comprehensive program aimed at imparting digital skills to the youth in Nakuru County.
Centum Investment Company PLC, through its Nakuru Ajiry Digital Hub, offers a diverse range of courses to participants. These include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Access Database, Proposal Writing, CV Writing, Email and Internet, Google Products, Financial Literacy, Personal Branding, and Marketing.
Since its inception, the Nakuru Ajiry Digital Hub has conducted training sessions for three batches, collectively consisting of 78 participants. The outcomes have been promising:
- First Batch: Among the 23 cohorts, 18 successfully completed the training and graduated with commendable results.
- Second Batch: The centre registered 34 youths, and 18 individuals successfully completed the training, passing the exams. This batch is scheduled to graduate this month.
- Third Batch: Interviews for the third batch were conducted on November 6, 2023, with 34 cohorts expressing interest in the program.
