In a move to address water scarcity in Mosop Ward, the Nakuru County Government has delivered 10 water tanks, each with a capacity of 5,000 liters, to ten Early Childhood Development (ECD) schools in the area. These tanks are intended to store harvested rainwater, ensuring that schools have access to safe and clean water during dry seasons.
The delivery of these PVC water tanks is part of the initiative by H.E. Governor Susan Kihika’s administration to improve water accessibility across Nakuru County. The tanks will not only provide much-needed water storage but will also promote the sustainable use of rainwater, which is crucial in a region where water can be scarce, especially during the dry months.
Area MCA, Hon. Alex Lang’at, expressed his appreciation for Governor Kihika’s efforts and the timely delivery of the water tanks. He emphasized the importance of these tanks in ensuring that the ECD schools in Mosop Ward have a reliable water source, particularly during periods of drought. “Water is a vital resource, and in an area like ours where it becomes scarce during dry seasons, these tanks will make a significant difference,” Hon. Lang’at said. He added that the ability to store harvested rainwater would help maintain hygiene standards and support the daily needs of the schools.
