The Nakuru County Government has received the sixth tranche of essential drugs valued at Ksh26 million from the Mission for Essential Drugs (MEDS), reinforcing its commitment to providing a consistent supply of medicines in public hospitals. The drug consignment will be distributed to Level 2 and Level 3 hospitals, along with 15 low-volume Level 4 hospitals, ensuring widespread access to essential medications across the county.

In addition to the MEDS consignment, the County has initiated the procurement of drugs worth Ksh25 million for the Nakuru County Teaching and Referral Hospital (NCTRH) through the Facility Improvement Fund (FIF). This move underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and services, particularly at the referral hospital.
Deputy Governor David Kones highlighted that the County anticipates receiving the Yellow Fever Vaccine in the coming week, specifically for international travellers. This vaccine will be dispensed at the County Inoculation Centre, further demonstrating Nakuru County’s dedication to comprehensive healthcare and public health measures.
