Nakuru County Government Extends Condolences and Support to Families Affected by Tragic Road Accident

The County Government of Nakuru, under the leadership of Governor Susan Kihika, stood in solidarity with the families devastated by a tragic road accident on New Year’s Eve. Edward Gitau, Chief Officer for Public Participation and Citizen Engagement, along with Francis Njoroge from the Political Office, and other dedicated staff, represented Governor Kihika in offering condolences and support to the bereaved families.

The accident, which occurred at the Eveready area along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway, claimed the lives of seven individuals, including Brian Obwocha and Evalyne Osebe Orina from Mosop Ward and Menengai West respectively. The entire community mourned the loss of these individuals, whose lives were cut short in such a tragic event.

Governor Kihika’s representatives delivered a contribution of sh100,000 to each family to assist with burial preparations. Additionally, the Governor demonstrated her commitment to alleviating the financial burden on the affected families by waiving all hospital bills, including morgue and postmortem charges.

The presence of Mosop Ward MCA Alex Lang’at and other County Officials underscored the collective effort of the local government in providing support and assistance to those in need during times of distress. Their solidarity and empathy resonated deeply with the grieving families, offering them solace and reassurance in their time of sorrow.

The tragic incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of road safety measures and the need for continuous efforts to prevent such accidents from occurring in the future.
