Relief to Fire-Affected Families

The Nakuru County Government, through its Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance unit, delivered essential relief items to two families affected by fire incidents in Kapkures Ward, Nakuru Town West, and Kamara Ward in Kuresoi North Sub-Counties.

Relief items provided included iron sheets for shelter, as well as beddings such as blankets and mattresses. The Chief Officer, Madam Joyce Ncece, reiterated Governor Susan Kihika’s commitment to prioritizing the needs of ordinary citizens in development plans and providing assistance during emergencies.

Madam Ncece also advised residents to handle electrical gadgets with extra care, as they are often the leading causes of fire disasters in households. The prompt response to emergency situations reflects the county government’s dedication to the well-being of its residents.

Local leaders, including Hon. Robert Kirui, MCA for Kapkures Ward, and Hon. John Maritim, MCA for Kamara Ward, expressed appreciation for the county leadership’s efforts. They commended Governor Susan Kihika for increasing the ward bursary fund, benefiting numerous deserving students across the county. The leaders acknowledged the equal distribution of assistance and development projects throughout Nakuru County under Governor Kihika’s administration.

The relief effort demonstrates the county’s commitment to providing support and assistance to its residents in times of crisis.
