The County Government of Nakuru, under the leadership of Chief Officer Joyce Ncece from the Department of Disaster Management, swiftly responded to a tragic accident that occurred early this morning on Ngata Road along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.
The accident resulted in 8 fatalities at the scene, with an additional 3 individuals succumbing to their injuries on their way to the hospital. Currently, 4 others are undergoing treatment at the PGH Hospital. Chief Officer Ncece, representing Governor Susan Kihika, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, relatives, and friends of the passengers affected by the accident.
Ncece offered her prayers, saying, “May the Almighty God give you the strength to bear the loss of your loved ones and provide peace and courage during this difficult moment. I also wish to thank the team and residents of Ngata for your quick response in rescuing the survivors. I want to take this opportunity to wish a quick recovery to the injured individuals currently in the hospital. I call upon the traffic officers and all security personnel to promptly investigate and determine the cause of this tragic accident, which claimed the lives of young, promising Kenyans.”
“The accident serves as a reminder to all transport stakeholders, starting with the Government of Kenya, to work together in enhancing road safety and infrastructure to prevent such incidents in the future. To all our PSV drivers, always exercise caution while driving, ensuring the safety of passengers and avoiding the loss of lives,” she added.
