Nakuru County Governor Susan Kihika Advocates for Collaborative Water Projects with Water Agency

Nakuru County Governor, H.E Susan Kihika, engaged in a strategic meeting with the top management of the Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency to align the agency’s water projects with the county’s priorities. During the meeting, Governor Kihika emphasized the need for expedited major projects, including the Itare Dam, to enhance water supply to residents and urged that these projects reflect the county’s interests.

Governor Kihika called for increased transparency regarding loans associated with water service providers, emphasizing the importance of the County Government’s involvement in project handovers. Deputy Governor H.E David Kones, County Secretary Samuel Mwaura, Chief of Staff Peter Ketienya, CECMs Nelson Maara (Environment), and Stephen Njogu (Finance) were among the officials present at the meeting.

The leadership of the Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency, represented by Board Chairman Mr Samuel Ndiritu and Acting CEO Mr Douglas Murei, assured their commitment to collaboration with the County Government in the execution of water projects. This strategic partnership aims to address water supply challenges and enhance water infrastructure for the benefit of Nakuru County residents.
