Chief Officers Stella Mwaura from Lands and Physical Planning and Charles Koech from Public Service Management led a consultative meeting with Sub-County and Ward Administrators from Nakuru Town West and East to address issues related to the ongoing public inspection of the Draft Valuation Roll.
Ms Mwaura clarified that the Draft Valuation Roll is a legal document aimed at updating the land register with current land values and informing property owners about the value of their land. She emphasized that the Draft Valuation Roll does not set rates but rather provides the market value of land parcels.
During the inspection, property owners are encouraged to review details such as plot numbers, ownership, land area, market value, and physical location. Objections can be submitted on various grounds, including errors in registry records, location, or omissions. These will be addressed by an independent valuation tribunal.
The public inspection of the Draft Valuation Roll will continue until Wednesday, 18th September 2024, as previously announced.
