As part of the Primary Health Care – Universal Health Coverage agenda launched by His Excellency, President Dr. William Samoei Ruto on October 20th, 2023, in Kericho, Nakuru County’s Department of Health Services is actively engaged in the electronic registration of households using the electronic Community Health Information System (eCHIS).
This initiative is a crucial step toward enhancing primary health care services, with the ultimate goal of ensuring comprehensive health coverage for every individual and family in the county. Community Health Promoters (CHPs), formerly known as Community Health Volunteers (CHVs), are tasked with conducting routine registrations, leveraging the eCHIS for efficient and accurate data collection.
The implementation of electronic registration signifies the county’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve healthcare services, streamline data management, and contribute to the realization of universal health coverage at the community level. This digital approach is expected to enhance the accessibility and effectiveness of primary health care services in Nakuru County.
