The Nakuru County Department of Infrastructure, under the leadership of CECM Eng Michael Kamau, has marked a significant step forward by handing over various projects to contractors in Subukia and Bahati Sub-counties.
Among the notable projects is the spot improvement of the 3KM Kamemo-Kirima-Kahiga-Tetu-Kirengero-Munanda-Sidai road in Subukia ward, alongside the routine maintenance and spot improvement of the 3.2KM AIC-Maombi primary-Gwa Cucu road in Kabazi ward, Subukia Sub-County. These projects encompass site clearance, 600mm culverts, drainage works, and the grading and gravelling of 3KM each.
Another crucial handover includes the construction of the Kamumo Bridge (Gwa Karani Bridge) in Waseges ward, Subukia Sub-county, which is part of the Kenya Roads Board program. This project involves the construction of a 5 meters wide by 5 meters long bridge, connecting the people of Kagumo and Mugumo villages within Mihango.
Additionally, the grading and gravelling of the Kwa Gitu-CDF tank access road in Bahati ward, costing 7.6 million, was handed over to the contractor. The scope of work for this project entails compaction and dozing to widen the narrow road to a length of six (6) meters.
The handover ceremony was attended by Waseges MCA Hon Elijah Murage, Kabazi MCA Hon George Tallam, County admin Roseline Mutai, Subukia Ward admin Gitonga, and resident engineers from Subukia and Bahati Sub-counties.
