Nakuru County Governor, H.E Susan Kihika, hosted a County Investment Forum at Sawela Lodge in Naivasha to present a myriad of investment opportunities to potential investors. The event, attended by United States Ambassador H.E Meg Whitman, highlighted Nakuru’s appeal as an investment destination.
Governor Kihika, in collaboration with Ambassador Whitman, emphasized Nakuru’s strategic advantages, including its central location in Kenya, fertile soils, educated workforce, affordable geothermal energy, favourable tax and investment incentives, a business-friendly environment, political stability, and a supportive County Government.
The forum attracted significant interest from investors across various sectors, such as dairy, pyrethrum, potato, floriculture, poultry, apparel, health, solid and water waste management, information technology, education, and hospitality. During panel discussions and roundtable engagements, existing investors in Nakuru praised the county’s attractiveness to businesses.
Ambassador Whitman commended Governor Kihika for organizing the investment forum, noting that Nakuru stands out as a unique county that actively engages both local and international investors. She praised Nakuru for aligning with the “Why Kenya, Why Counties” narrative, showcasing the county’s commitment to fostering economic growth through strategic investments.
In attendance were USAID Deputy Mission Director Sheila Roquette, Deputy Governor H.E David Kones, Bahati MP Irene Njoki, County Secretary Samuel Mwaura, Chief of Staff Peter Ketyenya, and various County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) and Chief Officers. The event showcased Nakuru County as a promising hub for diverse investment opportunities.
