The County Government of Nakuru has initiated a county-wide registration of cooperative movements to enhance their access to funds and grants provided by the County administration and international organizations. Chief Officer for Cooperatives, Kibet Kurgat, highlighted that this initiative will empower cooperatives by giving them more autonomy and flexibility in executing projects and making independent decisions.
Speaking during the first Annual General Meeting of Waseges Simboiyon Sacco in Waseges ward, Subukia Sub-county, Kurgat presented the group with a certification that enables them to access the County Cooperative Revolving Fund and grants from bodies like the World Bank. He commended the Sacco’s efforts and reaffirmed Governor Susan Kihika’s commitment to supporting cooperative growth.
Accompanying Kurgat was area MCA Elijah Murage, along with other officials.
