Deputy Director for Political Affairs Francis Njoroge and Executive Administrator Hawa Ibrahim, on behalf of Governor Susan Kihika, extended their condolences to two families in Nakuru Town West Sub-County who recently lost their loved ones. The two attended the memorial services for the late Mzee David Asango, also known as “Manywele,” from Kaptembwa Ward, and the late Mama Mary Muthoni Watene from Hilton in London Ward.
During the service, Njoroge took the opportunity to address attendees, reassuring them about the recently concluded Valuation Roll process. He clarified that the process was not designed to increase land rates, as some had claimed. “The Valuation Roll is simply an exercise in updating land values, and there is no intention to hike rates without proper consultation,” Njoroge emphasized.
He also reminded attendees that registered groups in the area should visit the Ministry of Trade on Monday, 23rd September 2024, to learn more about accessing low-interest loans through the County Enterprise Fund. This fund is part of Governor Kihika’s ongoing efforts to support local businesses and promote economic empowerment.
Accompanying the county officials were MCA Peter Palang’a and John Koech, Personal Assistant to MP Samuel Arama, who also showed their support to the grieving families.
The visit underscored the county’s dedication to both community engagement and providing clarity on key governance issues affecting the residents of Nakuru.
