The Nakuru County Department of Disaster Management took prompt action by delivering essential personal items to the victims of a recent fire tragedy in Kiamaina and Bahati Wards. Disaster Management Officer John Muchai, in conveying Governor Susan Kihika’s sympathy, handed over the aid to the affected families who suffered significant property losses.
Assuring the affected families of the governor’s support to help them resume normal activities, Muchai highlighted the substantial impact of the tragedy and the county’s commitment to assisting those in need during challenging times. Additionally, he brought attention to the issue of road encroachment by developers, emphasizing its detrimental effect on firefighting efforts in the Bahati area. Muchai urged locals to collaborate in marking road reserves and protecting them to prevent such setbacks in the future.
Accompanying Muchai in this endeavour were Kiamaina MCA Hon Paul Warege and Lilian Wanjiku, a representative of Kiamaina ward MCA. This collaborative effort between the county government and local representatives aims to provide immediate relief and address underlying issues contributing to the vulnerability of the community to such tragedies.
