Nakuru County’s Imarisha Barabara Program Revolutionizes Road Infrastructure in Naivasha and Gilgil Sub-Counties

The Imarisha Barabara program is rapidly transforming the road infrastructure in Naivasha and Gilgil Sub-Counties, a testament to the commitment of H.E. Governor Susan Kihika and her administration to improving the livelihoods of Nakuru County residents. Launched as a key component of Governor Kihika’s development agenda, the program focuses on upgrading and maintaining roads across the county, making communities safer, more accessible, and economically vibrant.

In Naivasha Sub-County, the Imarisha Barabara program has made significant strides, targeting multiple roads across various wards with the support of the Naivasha Municipality. The areas benefiting from this initiative include Lakeview Estate Access Roads, Governor’s Residence Access Roads, Enaiposha Girls Access Road, and Ndovu Lane in Lakeview Ward. In Naivasha East Ward, the program has focused on upgrading Mararo, Maryland, Signature, and Panda Estate Access Roads, as well as the Kinungi Access Road. These improvements are expected to enhance connectivity within the region, boost local businesses, and provide residents with safer, more reliable routes.

Similarly, Gilgil Sub-County has experienced remarkable progress under the Imarisha Barabara program. Roads that have received much-needed attention include Jogoo-Kiptangwanyi Access Roads in Elementaita Ward, Kongasis Access Road in Eburru-Mbaruk Ward, and Kambi Somali and Gilgil Town Access Roads in Gilgil Ward. These developments are crucial for promoting economic growth, improving access to essential services, and ensuring that residents can move freely and safely throughout their communities.

Governor Susan Kihika’s administration is also making headway in other sub-counties, with several key roads undergoing grading, leveling, and other upgrades. Among these are the Egerton-Ngondu Road in Njoro Ward, Rafiki kwa Muliro Access Road, Kinaba-St. Brendan Managu Access Road, and Turi Pilot Farm Access in Turi Ward. The program has also targeted Kapsinendet-Gitango Access Road in Marioshoni Ward, and Kapsitok-Area 71-Manyatta Access Road in Soin Ward, among others.
