In a glittering ceremony, Deputy Governor H.E David Kones joined Nakuru’s business community to celebrate outstanding entrepreneurs at the Nakuru Entrepreneurs Awards. Now in its second year, the awards aim to foster competitiveness, excellence, and innovation among entrepreneurs in Nakuru County.

Deputy Governor Kones highlighted the county’s commitment to supporting businesses throughout the value chain. Collaborating with institutions such as Strathmore University, Nakuru County has implemented Business Development Services for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). These services include entrepreneurship training, business coaching, digital literacy, and financial literacy.

The county is also in the process of establishing the Management Board for the County Cooperative Fund and County Enterprise Fund. Through these initiatives, Nakuru aims to provide affordable loans to businesses, enabling various ventures to access subsidized credit without collateral, with the county acting as the guarantor.

Governor Susan Kihika received recognition as a Business Empowerment Champion, while County Executive for Education, Zipporah Wambui, was honored with the Skills Development Leadership Award. The awards ceremony acknowledged and celebrated the contributions of these leaders to business growth and development in Nakuru County.
