Nakuru Governor H.E. Susan Kihika spearheaded the county’s second Prayer Breakfast of the year, uniting clergy, leaders, and residents in reflection, prayer, and gratitude for divine blessings and mercies. The event served as a platform for Governor Kihika to provide updates on various flagship projects and upcoming initiatives in the county.
Governor Kihika shared insights into the progress of key projects, emphasizing ongoing efforts to equip the Trauma Centre at Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital through collaboration with the national government. The commitment to healthcare improvement remains a priority for the county.
Highlighting a range of projects, the governor mentioned endeavors in the water sector, advancements in education, initiatives in manufacturing, and strides towards affordable housing. She specifically noted the groundbreaking ceremony for the multi-billion pyrethrum processing plant by Kentegra Ltd in Naivasha. This project aims to promote pyrethrum farming, offering economic benefits for the local community.
Apostle John Kimani from Kingdom Seekers Fellowship delivered a sermon titled “The Curse of Leadership” during the event. Drawing inspiration from the book of Judges, he emphasized the crucial role of leaders in blessing citizens and cautioned against potential consequences of anarchy if leadership challenges are not effectively addressed.
The Prayer Breakfast brought together a diverse group, including Deputy Governor David Kones, representatives from the Judiciary led by High Court Deputy Registrar Nancy Makau, Members of Parliament Liza Chelule (Women Rep), Irene Njoki (Bahati), David Gikaria (Nakuru Town East), County Secretary Dr. Samuel Mwaura, Chief of Staff Dr. Peter Ketyenya, Assembly Speaker Joel Karuri, MCAs, CECMs, COs, among others.
As Nakuru continues to integrate prayer and reflection into its governance, the Prayer Breakfast serves as a meaningful platform for leaders and residents to come together, fostering unity and collective aspirations for the county’s development.
