In a thrilling finale at the Nyayo National Stadium, Nakuru’s boys’ team showcased their skills in the inaugural Talanta Hela Under-19 football tournament. Despite a close match, they finished fourth after narrowly losing 2-3 to Vihiga County. The boys from Homa Bay County emerged as champions, securing victory with a 4-2 score against Kisumu in an exciting final.
Meanwhile, in the girls’ category, Busia demonstrated their prowess by defeating Kisumu 3-1 in an entertaining match. The tournament, aimed at promoting youth football talent, highlighted the best of Kenyan youth football.
Josephine Achieng, the County Executive Committee Member in charge of youth and sports, commended both the boys’ and girls’ teams for their outstanding performances throughout the competition. The event marked a significant celebration of young football talent in Nakuru and beyond.
