The Department of Health in Nakuru County is actively engaged in Advocacy Communication and Social Mobilization initiatives to bolster disease prevention and improve the overall health and well-being of its residents.
To enhance the effectiveness of these initiatives, the Advocacy Communication and Social Mobilization team organized a performance review forum. This forum brought together health promotion officers in the county and relevant stakeholders, particularly those involved in advocacy efforts supported by Population Services, Kenya.
During the forum, the team conducted a comprehensive assessment of various impact reports and shared their experiences. Chief Officer for Public Health, Alice Abuki, underscored the significance of prioritizing prevention strategies to alleviate the burden on curative healthcare programs.
The event also featured community influencers, who play a crucial role in conveying healthcare messages and promoting healthy practices, in addition to the participation of National Government Administration officers from all eleven Sub-counties and religious leaders.
