The County Executive Committee Member for Lands, Physical Planning, Housing, and Urban Development, John Kihagi, recently led a team from the State Department of Housing on a site visit to assess the readiness of proposed lands for affordable housing in Naivasha, Molo, and Bahati sub-counties.
The primary objective of this visit was to prepare for the upcoming groundbreaking event, which will be graced by President William Ruto and Governor Susan Kihika in the coming months. The affordable housing project is a collaborative effort between the National Government and Nakuru County, aimed at fostering urban economic growth, enhancing livelihoods, and generating employment opportunities.
During the site visit, Kihagi assured the state officials of the commitment of Governor Susan Kihika’s government to realizing the affordable housing agenda. The ambitious project aims to develop 50,000 affordable housing units in Nakuru, contributing to the overall goal of providing decent and accessible housing for residents.
The team was accompanied by the State Department Director for Housing, the Deputy County Commissioner for Bahati and Molo, and representatives from the Bahati MP’s Office. The collaborative efforts between the National Government and Nakuru County underscore the dedication to addressing housing challenges and improving the quality of life for the residents of Nakuru.
