The Senator today attended the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Milimani Primary School in Naivasha town. Milimani Primary School is one of the public primary schools with the highest number of pupils in Nakuru County.
“I was impressed by the unity and commitment of the parents who have tirelessly come together and put up most of the infrastructure. I was also impressed by the performance and discipline of the students despite the very high pupil to classroom/teacher ratio,” said the Senator who added that the Principal and teachers were doing a very commendable job.
While at Milimani Primary school, Senator Kihika also had the opportunity to tour the school and their ongoing projects. One of the things that stood out for the Senator as she toured the school was a water tank donated by the Catholic Church.
“I truly appreciate the Catholic Church and the role they play in our communities. The tank will go a long way in eliminating the water challenge in the school,” she observed.
The Senator had the opportunity to commission a borehole that was a project of the area MCA Hon Karanja Mburu. At its completion, the borehole will ensure that pupils and staff at the school will have access to clean drinking water which has been a very big challenge in the area.
Senator Kihika has promised to lobby and make sure that a footbridge is built for the children as they cross from the busy Kenyatta Avenue to and from school arguing that the safety of the children is paramount and should be guarded by all means.
