Today marked the official opening of The Talanta Hela National Under-19 Inter-County Football Tournament at the Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi County. The event was graced by the Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports, Hon Ababu Namwamba, who outlined his vision for the Talanta Hela Initiative—a vision set on transforming talent into a thriving industry in the realms of Sports and Creative Spaces.
Sixteen Counties, featuring both Girls and Boys teams, are competing for the coveted grand prize of Ksh. 5 Million. Among these, Nakuru County, represented by a cohort of talented boys and girls, finds itself in Pool D, facing off against formidable opponents including Uasin Gishu, Kiambu, and Makueni.
Hon Ababu Namwamba expressed his commitment to nurturing talent at the grassroots level, emphasizing the pivotal role of initiatives like Talanta Hela in providing a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills.
