Tayari ECDE Kitchen Project in Molo Ward

The Tayari ECDE kitchen project in Molo Ward is a major milestone in Nakuru County’s effort to enhance education infrastructure and promote child welfare in early learning institutions.

The new kitchen, officially commissioned by the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Education, Hon. Zipporah Wambui, is designed to support the school’s feeding program and create a better learning environment for pupils. Speaking during the commissioning, Hon. Wambui highlighted the significance of the modern kitchen in improving nutrition and attendance among young learners, particularly in rural settings like Molo.

“This kitchen will go a long way in supporting our ECDE learners through improved feeding programs, which are key in boosting their concentration and health,” said Hon. Wambui.

The Tayari ECDE kitchen project is a reflection of H.E. Governor Susan Kihika’s commitment to investing in quality infrastructure in learning institutions across Nakuru County. In addition to the kitchen facility, the Department of Education has provided age-appropriate furniture, textbooks, and ICT tablets to further support the academic development of the learners.

Present during the launch were Chief Officer for Environment Kennedy Mungai, Molo Ward MCA Hon. Ng’ang’a Ngware, teachers, parents, and local education officers. Their presence demonstrated the collective support and partnership between the county government and the local community in advancing early childhood education.

Alongside the Tayari ECDE kitchen project, Governor Susan Kihika’s administration continues to roll out comprehensive support for ECDE centres. This includes the supply of learning materials such as textbooks aligned with the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), digital learning tools like tablets, and child-friendly furniture to enhance classroom experiences.

This initiative aligns with Nakuru County’s broader education agenda, which prioritizes equity, access, and quality education for all, especially at the foundational levels. By investing in school infrastructure and learning resources, the County is contributing to improved learning outcomes and future readiness for thousands of children.

The success of the Tayari ECDE kitchen project also highlights the importance of collaboration. Stakeholder involvement from parents, teachers, MCAs, and departmental heads ensures that projects meet the actual needs of learners on the ground.
