Tough laws needed to protect school girls and from early pregnancies

The sentiments were shared by Nakuru County senator Susan Kihika while addressing the faithful at St. Stephen’s Catholic Parish in Karate, Naivasha.

Senator Kihika said it was saddening to see girls getting pregnant while in school.

“I was shocked by the many cases of pregnancies and deliveries that were reported as the exams were ongoing. We cannot sit and watch as this continues,” said the senator.

She also took the opportunity to address the schoolgirls who were in attendance asking them to refrain from getting into detrimental relationships.

Also in attendance was Gilgil MP Martha Wangari in whose area the church lies.

The leaders were at a function to raise funds towards finishing the construction of the church.
