A delegation of USAID Health Systems Strengthening Directors from the United States is currently on a week-long tour in Nakuru County to assess the primary impact of the Primary Healthcare Networks and other health outcomes. The team, received by the County Executive, engaged in discussions on Nakuru’s Primary Healthcare implementation roadmap.
County Executive [Name] highlighted the County’s commitment to bringing healthcare services to the community and making them people-centred, emphasizing that Primary Healthcare is a flagship project in Governor Susan Kihika’s manifesto and the County Integrated Development Plan 2022-2027.
The USAID directors commended Nakuru County for its reputation in partner relations and the effective governance and coordination of donor resources. “We’re here to learn and see the impact for ourselves,” stated Heidi Obra, Director of Health Systems Strengthening at USAID in America.
As part of the visit, the delegation, led by County Director for Health Administration and Planning Dr. Joy Mugambi, visited Bahati Sub County, where the Primary Healthcare Networks program has been successfully implemented. The team also included Chief Officer for Public Health Alice Abuki, County Director for Medical Services Dr. Daniel Wainaina, and County Director for Public Health Elizabeth Kiptoo, among others.
